St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026 – “Craic & Ceol Through the Ages”

17th Mar 2026

We were incredibly proud to take part in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Clonakilty Town Twinning organisers’ theme, “Craic & Ceol Through the Ages,” suited our school perfectly and gave us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich musical culture of SNB.

From traditional Irish music to rock, our pupils beautifully showcased the strong and vibrant musical tradition in our school.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families and pupils who represented our school so wonderfully on the day. Your enthusiasm, energy and pride made it a truly memorable occasion.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Michael Dempsey for driving us and to Gilbert O’Sullivan for generously loaning us the trailer. Your support was greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all the staff who attended and supported the pupils on the day. Your encouragement and presence meant so much. A special word of thanks to Kay O’Flynn for accompanying our traditional music group, and to Regina Fitzmaurice and her sound crew for supporting our fantastic rock band. We also extend our thanks to John Fitzgerald for mentoring the sound crew.

We are also very grateful to everyone who helped with preparations in advance — organising costumes, props, banners and materials, and supporting the children as they got ready. Your efforts made a huge difference and ensured everything came together so successfully.

A special thank you to Orla O’Keeffe for coordinating the parade arrangements and ensuring everything ran so smoothly. Events like this are only possible because of the willingness of staff to give their time and support, and it was wonderful to see such strong school spirit on display.

We were proud to represent not only our school but also the legacy of famous Irish musicians, highlighting the importance of music in our culture.

Many thanks again to everyone for your continued cooperation and support.
