🔬🎶 We were delighted to receive the official Science Blast plaque and judges’ feedback this week, recognising the fantastic work of Ms Hayes’ 4th Class on their project, “Does Music Help Our Brain Power?” 🧠🎶 The judges described the boys’ work as “very impressive” and praised the excellent way they collected, organised and presented their data, highlighting their effective use of graphs and results to communicate their findings. 📊👏 Particular praise was given to the creativity of the experiments and the way the boys explored the impact of music on memory, concentration, literacy and maths. The pupils were also commended for the confidence and knowledge they displayed when presenting their project and explaining their conclusions throughout the day. ⭐ One of the most rewarding aspects of the feedback was the recognition of the outstanding teamwork shown by the entire class. Every pupil played a role, demonstrating excellent collaboration, communication and enthusiasm from start to finish. 💙 To celebrate this achievement, Finbarr proudly added the Science Blast plaque to our STEM Wall, where it now sits alongside our STEM showcases from Science Blast and the Young Scientist Exhibition, as well as our Curious Minds Awards and Muintir na Tíre Awards. Together, these achievements reflect the boys’ enthusiasm for STEM, creativity, innovation and community engagement, while inspiring future scientists, engineers and problem-solvers in Scoil na mBuachaillí. 🔬🏆 A huge thank you to Ms Hayes for her dedication, support and encouragement in making this such a memorable and successful experience for the boys. #ScienceBlast #STEM #FutureScientists #ScienceInAction #ScoilnamBuachailli #CuriousMinds #STEMEducation #PrimaryScience #STEMSuccess

🌟 Yesterday, 3rd Class enjoyed a lovely walk around Clonakilty as they explored their local area and got to know their town a little better 🏘️ Along the way, they discovered different street names, spotted interesting local statues, and learned more about the history and features of their community. They also kept an eye out for their amazing summer visitors — the swifts 🐦✨ — and were delighted to see them flying overhead. A fantastic day of learning, exploring, and enjoying the sunshine ☀️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
🏄‍♂️🌊 Scoil na mBuachaillí has a proud tradition of providing exciting outdoor learning opportunities for our pupils, and over the coming weeks our 6th Class boys will take part in a fantastic four-day surfing programme with Inchydoney Surf School Throughout the programme, the boys will develop their surfing skills, build confidence in the water, and experience the beauty of the West Cork coastline.
