☀️🦋 Sunshine, Science & Smiles in Junior Infants! 💧😊 Junior Infants had a fantastic week full of fun, learning and adventure! 🌿 They enjoyed a lovely sunny walk to Bushmount where they explored the outdoors and took in the beauty of nature 🌳🌼 Back in class, the children have been learning all about the life cycle of the butterfly 🐛➡️🦋 They created beautiful artwork 🎨 and took part in sequencing activities to understand each stage of this amazing transformation. Outdoor play was a big highlight this week! 🚜 The children loved exploring with vehicles, sand and water 💦 They investigated capacity, floating and sinking, and even made ice before experimenting with it using water of different temperatures ❄️🔥 Our Infant classrooms are lucky to have their own dedicated courtyard space, complete with climbing walls 🧗‍♂️, play equipment and an astro area ⚽—the perfect place for active play and exploration! A brilliant week full of curiosity, creativity and smiles! 🌈✨
🌱🌼 3rd Class Bringing Our Green Hub to Life 🌼🌱 3rd Class have been super busy this week transforming their garden into a vibrant and productive space in our school’s Green Hub! 🌿 Located by the cycle shed 🚲, this fantastic area is home to our garden beds, bike shelter, leaf composter 🍂, and even our hens and hen coop 🐔🥚 The children showed amazing teamwork 💪 as they planted peas, beans, lettuce and basil 🫛🥬🌱, carefully prepared the soil, and built supports for their growing plants 🌾. They have also been busy watering 💧, weeding, and looking after their crops—showing real responsibility and pride in their work 😊👏 Beautiful flowers 🌸🌺🌷 have also been added, which will soon bring lots of colour and help attract pollinators 🐝🦋 We have exciting plans to continue developing our Green Hub 🌍, so stay tuned for more updates! In the meantime, keep an eye on 3rd Class’s garden 👀—you might spot some tasty produce ready to harvest soon 🍴🥗 Clonakilty Tidy Towns Green-Schools
🚨 HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨 We are absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news! 🤠🎶 Line Dancing Fun at SNB! 🎶🤠 Our 1st–4th class pupils have been swapping their usual moves for some toe-tapping 👣, heel-clicking 👢 line dancing — and what a show they’re putting on! 🌟 They’ve taken to it brilliantly 💪, learning new routines 🕺, keeping (mostly!) in time ⏱️, and showing great determination as they improve week by week. There’s been plenty of laughter 😂, lots of energy ⚡, and fantastic progress all round 👏. At SNB, we are committed to providing our pupils with a wide and varied range of opportunities to grow and develop. Activities like line dancing help build confidence 💫, coordination 🤝 and self-expression 🎭, all while encouraging teamwork and a positive spirit 🙌. It’s been wonderful to see everyone fully embrace the experience 😊, growing in confidence with each session 📈 and enjoying every moment together 🎉. 👏 A big thank you to Ann Murphy for providing these fantastic lessons — we really appreciate it! 💐 👏 Well done to all involved — the footwork is getting seriously impressive! 🔥 #SNB #ActiveSchools #LineDancing #StudentLife #ConfidenceInAction
Our Senior Infants made the most of the beautiful sunshine this week by bringing their learning outdoors—and what a fantastic time they had! ☀️🌈📚 The children enjoyed reading on the grass, finding cosy spots to share stories with friends and spend quiet moments with their favourite books 📖👫 It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for reading in the fresh air 🍃 There was plenty of fun and exploration too! From building and balancing on outdoor equipment 🛝⚖️ to imaginative games 🎭, the yard was full of energy, laughter, and teamwork 😄🤝 A visit to Emmet Square added to the day, where the children explored nature 🌳🌼, relaxed on benches, and played together under the trees 🌿 We also had lots of active play, with running, games, and movement 🏃‍♂️⚽ making the most of the sunshine and space! Days like these are so important for wellbeing 💛, social development, and nurturing a love of learning beyond the classroom 🎓✨ We are very lucky to have such lovely outdoor spaces to enjoy 🌍 Well done to all our Senior Infants for their enthusiasm, kindness, and great participation 👏🌟😊
