As part of our growing digital learning programme, pupils at Scoil na mBuachaillí were delighted to welcome Michael Keohane to our school podcast — a driver currently making headlines in the world of motorsport.
Recently featured in The Southern Star, Michael is set to compete in the 2026 McLaren Trophy Europe series, marking an exciting new chapter in his racing career. An Irish karting champion in 1996, Michael has enjoyed success at national and international level over many years. After time away from top-level competition, he is now returning to the track, testing the McLaren at Donington Park and preparing for a ten-round European series that includes iconic circuits such as Monza, Spa and Silverstone.
Using our in-house podcasting studio, sound desk and lighting equipment, our 6th Class boys delivered and recorded an exceptional interview. Their preparation and insightful questioning led to a fascinating discussion about Michael’s early days in karting, his experience racing internationally, and his determination to return to elite motorsport competition in 2026.
