Orienteering
Orienteering has begun in Scoil na mBuachaillí. Unfortunately due to a shortage of organisers the CSOA were unable to organize an Orienteering league for schools this year. However on Thursday October 17th 5th and 6th class are going to Fota House and Gardens to take part in the Cork Championship. We will be competing against teams from all over Cork so we are all very excited about this event.
In school this week we set up an orienteering course around the school and despite the bad weather 5th and 6th class ran the course. Many thanks to Donnacha Crowley, Ewan Bell and Conor Moore who helped set up all the control points and then timed the boys as they ran. Many thanks also to all the boys in 6th who were stewards on the day around the school. They were a great help to 5th class and guided anyone who took a wrong turn!
Next event now is Fota on Thursday 17th and we would like to wish all the boys taking part the very best of luck. We will let you all know how we get on.
