Joe Walsh Greenway
Classes at Scoil na mBuachaillí regularly use the Joe Walsh Greenway, a valued and well-used walking route within our town. The Greenway is an important local amenity, providing a safe, accessible and scenic space for walking, recreation and connection within the community.
Teachers plan walks along the Greenway to support physical activity, wellbeing and outdoor learning. Ms O’Donovan’s and Mr Daly’s classes took advantage of the lovely weather on Thursday to enjoy a walk along the Greenway, where pupils enjoyed fresh air, observed their surroundings and engaged in discussion and reflection while remaining active beyond the classroom.
By incorporating the Joe Walsh Greenway into the school day, Scoil na mBuachaillí makes use of an important community walkway and encourages regular physical activity, supports wellbeing and fosters positive attitudes towards walking, outdoor activity and the use of local amenities.
