Bricfeasta Mór, Bainne Úr agus Borróga Bonanza

13th Mar 2026

Our school community came together for a wonderful morning of food, fun and community spirit at our Bricfeasta Mór, Bainne Úr agus Borróga Bonanza. The Bricfeasta Mór has become a special tradition in our school calendar, giving students, staff and families the chance to gather together and enjoy a delicious breakfast while celebrating the strong sense of community that exists in our school.

We are very thankful to Scally’s SuperValu for sponsoring and delivering all the cooked sausages and rolls for our Bricfeasta Mór, including vegetarian options. Their generous support helped make the morning such a success.

We would also like to say a big thank you to Michael Cahalane for bringing the Bainne Úr milk truck to the school. This was a wonderful treat for the children, who thoroughly enjoyed tasting the fresh milk straight from the Bainne Úr truck.

Adding even more excitement to the morning was our much-anticipated Borróga Bonanza baking competition!

We were absolutely delighted that the very talented Noreen kindly agreed to be our judge for this year’s Borróga Bonanza. Entries were brought into the school on Friday, 13th March, and the competition was open to everyone in our school community – students and staff alike.

Participants were asked to bring in four buns each for judging, and the response was incredible. We received 68 individual entries from across the school community. With over 300 buns arriving in total, it was a wonderful display of baking talent, creativity and generosity.

After the judging was complete, the buns were shared so that every child in the school got to enjoy a delicious treat, making the event even more special.
