πŸ§ πŸ”¬ Science Blast 2026 πŸ”¬πŸ§

13th May 2026

We are excited to announce that Ms Hayes’s 4th Class will be proudly flying the SNB flag at Science Blast in the University of Limerick on May 20th! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

At SNB, we strongly encourage STEM learning and love giving our pupils opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through hands-on, creative and collaborative activities. πŸš€

Science Blast is a fantastic educational STEM programme where primary school children investigate a scientific question of their choice and present their discoveries in a fun, interactive and non-competitive environment. The event promotes curiosity, teamwork, creativity and problem-solving while helping children develop a real love of science. πŸ”πŸ’‘

This year, Ms Hayes’s 4th Class has been investigating the question:

🎡 Does music affect our brain power? 🎡

Through a series of exciting experiments, the class is exploring how different types of music can affect memory, concentration, literacy and maths performance. The pupils are working incredibly hard planning investigations, recording results, analysing data and creating impressive project displays. πŸ“ŠπŸŽΆ

We are especially proud of this experiment topic as it focuses on the positive impact music can have on learning and brain development — something we strongly value and encourage in SNB. It has been wonderful for the pupils to gather real data and explore an area of learning that is such an important part of school life. πŸŽΌπŸ§ πŸ’™

We are extremely proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and scientific thinking shown by all the pupils and wish Ms Hayes’s 4th Class the very best of luck at Science Blast next week! πŸ’™πŸ‘
