We did it! Scoil na mBuachaillí Clonakilty has been awarded the prestigious Research Ireland Curious Minds Gold Award 2026! 🌟
This national award recognises schools that demonstrate excellence in STEM education, celebrating innovation, creativity and curiosity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
From coding and engineering challenges to scientific investigations, Citizen Science projects, podcasting, maths, and even learning inspired by our much-loved school chickens, our pupils have embraced every opportunity to explore, question, create and discover. Their enthusiasm, imagination and problem-solving skills shone through in every aspect of our submission.
This Gold Award is a testament to the incredible work of our pupils, the passion and commitment of our staff, and the wonderful support of our parents and wider school community. Together, we have created a school where curiosity is encouraged, innovation is celebrated, and learning comes to life.
Our new Gold Award plaque has now taken pride of place on our STEM Wall of Achievements, joining the many milestones that celebrate our school's commitment to excellence and innovation in STEM education.
A special word of thanks to Ms Regina Fitzmaurice, whose dedication and hard work in coordinating our Curious Minds submission made this achievement possible. Her commitment to promoting STEM throughout our school has been instrumental in securing this wonderful recognition.
