🎱 Earning Pool Privileges 🎱 Our boys work hard to earn their pool time, and it has proven to be a really positive and motivating experience. Pool time isn’t just a reward — it’s something they earn through effort, positive behaviour, and making good choices. As well as being great fun, playing pool has many benefits. It helps develop focus, patience, strategic thinking, and social skills such as turn-taking and sportsmanship. It also provides a calm, enjoyable space where the boys can relax and connect in a positive way. Well done to all the boys who earned their pool time — a great example of hard work being rewarded 👏🎱
When the rain won’t quit, we get creative! ☔🎨 Our Junior Infants brightened up the gloomy days with their gorgeous umbrella artwork — proving that even endless rain can inspire a splash of colour and a lot of smiles 🌈💛
✨📚A huge well done to Ms O’Donovan’s 4th/5th class for their fabulous Christopher Columbus projects! 🌍⛵ The creativity, research, and effort on display were outstanding — from detailed fact files to eye-catching displays. We’re so proud of the fantastic learning and imagination shown by everyone involved 👏⭐
We’re not just talking clean energy — we’re powering it! 🌞⚡ Our school’s solar panels are cutting carbon, supporting learning, and showing students that climate action starts right here 💚♻️
✨ Hands-On Maths in Action! ✨ Learning through activity and exploration is at the heart of our school. Recently, pupils across different class levels enjoyed engaging, hands-on Maths lessons. 👶 Junior Infants explored capacity through play-based Maths and Science activities, using containers to compare more, less and the same. 📐 4th Class pupils took part in Maths stations, working collaboratively on practical problem-solving tasks. These active lessons support mathematical understanding while building curiosity, confidence and enjoyment in learning 🌟 #ActiveLearning #HandsOnMaths #LearningThroughPlay
🌿 Joe Walsh Greenway Walk 🌿 Ms O’Donovan’s and Mr Daly’s classes took full advantage of the lovely weather on Thursday with a walk along the Joe Walsh Greenway. The Greenway is a much-valued community walkway in our town and provided the perfect setting for pupils to enjoy fresh air, stay active and take in their surroundings. A great opportunity for movement, wellbeing and outdoor learning — all while enjoying one of Clonakilty’s fantastic local amenities 👟☀️ #OutdoorLearning #ActiveSchools #JoeWalshGreenway #ScoilnamBuachaillí

🎢🌳 Lucky to Have Clonakilty Playground Next Door! 🌳🎢 One of the best parts of school life at Scoil na mBuachaillí is having Clonakilty Playground right on our doorstep. Today, Junior Infants and First Class took full advantage of a lovely January day, enjoying plenty of fresh air, movement, and smiles. Climbing, swinging, balancing, running and laughing might look like “just fun” — but it also helps children reset, build confidence, and head back to class happier and ready to learn 😊 Most of all, the playground is a joyful place where friendships grow and imaginations run wild. We’re so lucky to have such a fantastic neighbour and to make it part of our school day 💚 #LearningThroughPlay #Clonakilty #HappyLearners #OutdoorFun #ScoilNaMBuachaillí
🌟 Discovering Clonakilty with 2nd class 🌟 Mr. Crowley's 2nd class had a wonderful opportunity to step beyond the classroom and explore our town of Clonakilty through a History and Maths Trail. The children enjoyed discovering local landmarks, using maths in real-life settings, and learning about the rich history of our town, all while working together and having great fun. The trail was facilitated by Mr Ciarán Crowley and Ms Karen O’Regan, and the excitement was doubled when the pupils were lucky enough to meet Mayor Conan O’Donovan — a familiar face to many of them as the person who trains them at GAA every Wednesday! 🏐😊 A lovely example of learning, community, and connection coming together 💚 #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #Clonakilty #CommunityConnections #ActiveLearning Clonakilty Mayoral Council Clonakilty GAA Club Clonakilty Notice Board
