🚴‍♀️ Cycle Right – Week 2! 🚴‍♂️ Our 4th & 5th Class pupils are building confidence and learning important cycling skills in Week 2 of Cycle Right. To top it off, a beautiful rainbow 🌈 appeared at the end of the session — a perfect finish to a great morning! #CycleRight #RoadSafety #ActiveSchools #RainbowDay
🌱 Exciting News from 3rd Class! 🌱 We’re thrilled to share that our 3rd Class has been invited to take part in the wonderful Roots of Empathy programme! 💚 This inspiring programme helps children learn about feelings — their own and those of others — by observing and connecting with a real baby right in the classroom. Every three weeks, a baby and parent will visit, and under the guidance of Mrs. Elaine Connolly, a trained Roots of Empathy instructor, the children will watch the baby grow and learn through kindness, care and curiosity. Today, we welcomed our very special visitors — Beautiful Baby Éabha and her amazing mum, Margaret! 👶💖 And what a perfect day to begin — World Kindness Day! 💫 We can’t wait to watch Baby Éabha grow and to see empathy and kindness blossom in our classroom all year long. 🌼 #RootsofEmpathy #WorldKindnessDay #KindnessMatters #3rdClass #SchoolCommunity #LearningThroughLove
🌍💛 Happy World Kindness Day! 💛🌍 Today we celebrate World Kindness Day — a wonderful reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference! 🌎✨ At our school, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Each year, we begin our school year with this very message, as our amazing school secretary Noreen Collins reads Spike Milligan’s beautiful poem “Smile” — a gentle reflection on how one simple smile can brighten the world. 😊💫 🌟 Exciting news! In honour of today’s international observance encouraging acts of kindness, compassion, and goodwill towards others (and ourselves), we’re thrilled to launch our December “Pass on the Kindness” initiative! Throughout December, students are encouraged to make pledges and carry out acts of kindness — spreading positivity and goodwill across our school community. 💛 And to make it even more exciting… all participants will be entered into a draw for a grand prize: a family pass to the Panto! 🎭✨ 🎥 Check out this lovely video of some of our pupils sharing what kindness means to them — with special thanks to Ms. Karen O’Regan for putting it together! Let’s keep living that message today and every day — spreading kindness through our words, actions, and smiles! 💕 #WorldKindnessDay #PassOnTheKindness #SchoolCommunity #KindnessMatters #BeKind
🎄Scoil na mBuachailli is proud to support Sinéad Crowley in her wonderful initiative to bring a little ease and cheer to individuals and families this Christmas, in collaboration with Caitriona Twomey. Sinead will be hosting a collection on Friday, 12th December at her home, and anything donated will be passed on to those in need through Caitriona. The school will also happily accept any donations before 12th December, making it easier for everyone to contribute. There is no pressure to donate, but if you are able, anything you can give over the coming weeks would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can help make this Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most. Today, Rang 7 set off on an exciting adventure to Little Rebels Soft Play in Ballincollig — and what a fantastic day it was! From climbing, sliding, and laughing our way through the play zones to sharing lunch in McDonalds, it was a trip full of fun, friendship and happy memories. 🍟😄 A very special thank you goes to Garda Liam Ryan, who kindly facilitated our journey on the Community Bus. We’re so grateful for his time and support in making this outing possible. 👮‍♂️ Well done, Rang 7, for representing our school so wonderfully — and thank you to Ms Rebecca Hourihane, Claire Kavanagh & Eilish McSweeney who helped make this day such a success! 🌟
🌟 Science Week 2025: Then. Today. Tomorrow. 🌟 This year marks 30 years of Science Week Ireland — a nationwide celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in science! 🔬✨ Here at SNB, we’re excited to join in the fun: 🍂 On Monday, our Gardening Team made the most of the dry weather to gather more leaves for our leaf composter — turning fallen leaves into nutrient-rich leaf mould to improve soil, support plant growth, and help the environment. A small step, but a big lesson in sustainability! 📦 Our STEM Committee delivered science boxes to every classroom for a week full of experiments and hands-on activities. 🌳 3rd Class is continuing their GLOBE Ireland “Climate Resilience – Temperatures and Trees Project”, measuring temperatures and observing trees to learn about climate resilience — a real citizen-science experience! 🕵️‍♂️ 5th Class will visit Clonakilty Library on Wednesday for a CSI Workshop, learning forensic science techniques to solve an imaginary crime. 💡 All classes at SNB will be engaging in STEM activities this week — be sure to check out our website at the end of the week for a full round-up of all the exciting science happening in school! Science isn’t just something we read about — it’s something we explore, create, and discover every day. Let’s celebrate Then. Today. Tomorrow. together! 🌍 Research Ireland Curious Minds Green-Schools GLOBE Ireland #ScienceWeek2025 #ThenTodayTomorrow #STEM #Sustainability #CitizenScience #SNB #ScienceWeekIreland
