🎉🎉 Exciting News! 🎉🎉 Our Project Has Been Accepted to the Primary Science Fair at the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 🚀📚✨ We are delighted to announce that our class project, “Do chickens add to the wellbeing of our school?”, has been officially accepted to the Primary Science Fair, part of the prestigious Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in the RDS, Dublin. 🏛️🌟 This is an exciting achievement for our school, and we are incredibly proud of Ms Kathryn O'Shea and the students for their curiosity, teamwork and dedication. 👏🐣💡 Our students have been investigating how caring for school chickens can support wellbeing, responsibility, and connection to nature — and now they’ll be sharing their work on a national stage. 🐔🌿🌈 We’re so proud of the creativity, teamwork and scientific curiosity shown throughout this project. Rang 7 & 8 at Clonakilty Black Pudding! 🥓✨ This week, our Rang 7 & 8 pupils had an amazing trip to Clonakilty Blackpudding! They explored the history, production and unique flavours of this iconic Irish food 👀🌿. The best part? Tasting some fabulous food and discovering why it’s so famous! 😋👏 A brilliant way to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, while enjoying Irish heritage and teamwork in action 💪🍴. 🌱💛 This Month’s Activity: Junior Infants & 6th Class Planting! Building on the connections from our recent buddy check-ins, this week our Junior Infants and 6th Class came together for a planting activity 🌿🤝. The older pupils visited the Junior Infants’ classroom to work together on their planting projects 🌱🤝. They collaborated with their younger buddies planting and creating something they can nurture and enjoy for weeks to come 🌸✨. This activity is a wonderful continuation of our Amber Flag initiative, promoting positive mental health, empathy, and supportive relationships across the school 🌈💪. 🧭✨ Orienteering in the Winter Sunshine! ✨🌞 We’re so lucky to have our extensive school grounds professionally mapped, giving students the perfect place to explore, practise their navigation skills and enjoy some outdoor adventure! 🚶‍♂️📍🌿 The fantastic winter sunshine has made our lessons even better this week — bright, fresh and full of energy! ❄️🌞 A brilliant way to learn, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors! 💪🌲😄 Many thanks to Ms Mac Auley for organising and running these fantastic events for classes across the school! 🙌✨

🌳🏘️ 4th Class Trip to Rathbarry & Castlefreke! 🏰🌿 We had a fantastic day exploring the beautiful village of Rathbarry and the stunning surroundings of Castlefreke! From wandering through the peaceful village to taking in the woodland paths and scenic views, the area was full of discovery and adventure. 🌿✨ Our class loved learning about the local history, enjoying the outdoors, and soaking up everything these amazing places have to offer. 🌱 Exciting News from 3rd Class! 🌱 We’re thrilled to share that our 3rd Class has been invited to take part in the wonderful Roots of Empathy programme! 💚 This inspiring programme helps children learn about feelings — their own and those of others — by observing and connecting with a real baby right in the classroom. Every three weeks, a baby and parent will visit, and under the guidance of Mrs. Elaine Connolly, a trained Roots of Empathy instructor, the children will watch the baby grow and learn through kindness, care and curiosity. Today, we welcomed our very special visitors — Beautiful Baby Éabha and her amazing mum, Margaret! 👶💖 And what a perfect day to begin — World Kindness Day! 💫 We can’t wait to watch Baby Éabha grow and to see empathy and kindness blossom in our classroom all year long. 🌼 #RootsofEmpathy #WorldKindnessDay #KindnessMatters #3rdClass #SchoolCommunity #LearningThroughLove
