Wonderful Musical Performances During Seachtain na Gaeilge ☘️🎶 Music and performance played a very special part in our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. We were treated to an incredible concert from Kay O’Flynn and her talented musicians 🎻🎶, with every class represented 👏. The performances of Irish music and songs 🎵🇮🇪 were outstanding and created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the school. It was fantastic to see so many pupils involved, sharing their talents and taking pride in performing as part of the celebrations ⭐. A really special mention must go to the Senior Infant tin whistle players 🎶🎵 who showed wonderful talent and great confidence performing. 👏👏. Their performance was fantastic and they should be very proud of themselves 🌟. A sincere thank you to Kay O’Flynn and all of the musicians 🎻🎼 for providing such an enjoyable and memorable performance for our school community. It was an occasion that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone 😊🎶☘️.
🥐🌭🥛 Bricfeasta Mór, Bainne Úr agus Borróga Bonanza 🧁🎉 Our school community came together for a fantastic morning of food, fun and community spirit at our Bricfeasta Mór, Bainne Úr agus Borróga Bonanza! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨ A huge thank you to Scally's SuperValu Clonakilty 🛒 for sponsoring and delivering all the cooked sausages and rolls 🌭🥖, including vegetarian options 🌱, for our Bricfeasta Mór. Their generous support helped make the morning such a success 🙌. We would also like to say a big thank you to Michael Cahalane 🚚🥛 for bringing the Bó Bainne Úr milk truck to the school. This was a fantastic treat for the children, who really enjoyed tasting the fresh milk straight from the truck! 😋🐄 The morning also featured our much-anticipated Borróga Bonanza baking competition! 🧁🍰 We were delighted that the very talented Noreen 👩‍🍳 kindly agreed to be our judge. Entries were brought into the school on Friday 13th March, and the competition was open to the entire school community – students and staff alike. Participants were asked to bring in four buns each for judging, and the response was incredible 🤩. We received 68 individual entries, with over 300 buns in total! 🧁🧁🧁 It was a fantastic display of baking talent, creativity and generosity 👏. After the judging, the buns were shared so that every child in the school got to enjoy a delicious treat 🍰😊. 🏆 Results Best Bun 🧁 🥇 Andrew Eloff – Senior Infants 🥈 Seán O’Sullivan and his brothers DJ & Alex Best Decoration 🎨🧁 🥇 Seamus Quirke and his brother Cillian 🥈 Tom & Finn O’Donovan 👏 Highly Commended ⭐ Donnacha & Páidí Lynch Donncha Murphy Malachy Lordan Adam Deasy Aengus Ó Coileán Oliver Nolan Jacob & Cameron Gallwey Jimmy O’Brien Rang 7 A huge thank you to everyone who baked and took part 🧁👏 and especially to Noreen for judging ⭐. ⚽️ Fantastic Day for Scoil na mBuachaillí at the FAI Primary 5-a-Side Competition! ⚽️ Today, 16 teams from schools across Cork gathered at Carrigaline FC to compete in the FAI Primary 5-a-Side soccer tournament, with only two teams earning a place in next month’s County Finals. We were proud to send two teams to represent our school — Clonakilty BNS UTD and Clonakilty BNS FC — and both teams represented our school impeccably. Throughout the day they showed fantastic respect for their teammates, their opponents, the referees, and the event organisers. Their attitude and sportsmanship made us all incredibly proud. 🌟 History Made! 🌟 For the first time ever, we have a team progressing to the County Finals! Clonakilty BNS UTD battled through a series of very close and hard-fought matches — including a bruising encounter that went to extra time against Spioraid Naomh — to secure their place in the finals. In the deciding match they faced St. Anthony’s Boys National School of Ballinlough. Having narrowly lost to the same team earlier in the group stages, the boys showed tremendous determination to come back and win the final match and qualify for the County Finals. A fantastic achievement! 👏 Clonakilty BNS FC also had an excellent tournament. They went unbeaten in the group stages and were very unlucky to narrowly miss out in the knockout rounds. Every single player played their part today — it was truly a team effort. Well done to all involved! We are extremely proud of you all. 💙⚽️ Thank You to Mr Ciarán Crowley & Mr Paul Carmody for mentoring the teams to Mr Seán Daly for organising. #ClonakiltyBNS #Teamwork #SchoolPride #FAI5ASi
✨ SNB Gaeilge Challenge – Taking Our Cúpla Focal into the Community! ✨🇮🇪 As part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations, we launched our SNB Gaeilge Challenge today, March 11th. Each pupil received an SNB Gaeilge sticker to take home. The challenge is simple – use your Gaeilge outside the classroom! Pupils are encouraged to ask a simple question in Irish to someone at home or, with support, a member of the community such as a shopkeeper, neighbour or childminder. If the person replies in Irish, they receive an SNB Gaeilge sticker too! ⭐ We feel very lucky to be able to share this wonderful initiative with our school community and would like to thank everyone who is embracing the challenge and encouraging the use of Gaeilge beyond the classroom. #SeachtainNaGaeilge #gaeilgesaphobal Clonakilty Notice Board I Love Clonakilty
👨‍🍳🍴 Cooking Lessons Continue in Scoil na mBuachaillí! There was great excitement in the kitchen today as 3rd Class, 4th Class and 4th/5th Class took their turn in our ongoing cooking lessons in Scoil na mBuachaillí. The boys rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in preparing today’s delicious dishes — Chilli Con Carne and Marble Cake! 🌶️🍰 From chopping and mixing to measuring and stirring, the boys showed fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm while developing their cooking skills. The wonderful aromas drifting through the school were a sure sign that something tasty was underway! These lessons are about so much more than cooking. The boys are learning about healthy eating, independence and trying new foods, while also building confidence in the kitchen. One of the highlights of the week was hearing lovely feedback from a parent who shared that her son is now trying new foods at home thanks to the cooking lessons. Hearing that the boys are bringing their new confidence and curiosity about food beyond the classroom is exactly what these lessons are all about. Well done to all the boys today – fantastic work! 👏 #ScoilNamBuachaillí #CookingInSchool #LifeSkills #HealthyEating
🙏✨ A Big Week for 2nd Class! ✨🙏 Our 2nd Class boys celebrated their First Confession on Monday, showing great maturity on this important milestone. We are very proud of them! ⭐ On Tuesday, they enjoyed a lovely trip to the playground right next door to the school. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an exceptional amenity right on our doorstep, giving our pupils the chance to enjoy fresh air, play and celebration just moments from the classroom. ☀️🛝 A perfect way to mark a special occasion with plenty of fun and smiles.
