Each September, Clonakilty comes alive with the sound of guitars from all over the world during the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival — a much-loved local event that celebrates music in all its forms.

Now in its 21st year, the festival features performances by talented musicians from Ireland and beyond, taking place in venues across the town — from pubs and cafes to churches, theatres, and even schools! Events include:

• 🎤 Live concerts & street sessions

• 🧒 School performances & workshops

• 🎧 The Acoustic Forum – an intimate music-sharing session, hosted right here in Scoil na mBuachaillí

Our school is proud to play a part in the festival each year — whether by hosting events, welcoming guest artists, or showcasing our own talented pupils. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to experience live music, meet real musicians, and be inspired by the power of creativity.
