A Historic Day for Scoil na mBuachaillí: First Student Council Elected 🗳️
Clonakilty, October 23rd, 2025 – Scoil na mBuachaillí celebrated a historic milestone today with the formation of its first-ever Student Council. Following a full campaign experience—including class manifestos, creative campaign teams, and paired voting using real ballot boxes and ballot papers—students from Rang 1 to Rang 8 elected their representatives.
The elections, organised by Ms Niamh Mac Auley, Ms Laura Connolly, and Mr Ciarán Crowley, allowed pupils to develop leadership, teamwork, and democratic skills in a fun and fair environment.
A special congratulations to the elected Student Council members, who campaigned, canvassed, and gave speeches with confidence and enthusiasm:

The Student Council will now meet on the last Thursday of every month, and agendas will be posted on the Student Council noticeboard so that all classmates can contribute ideas and have their voices heard.
The school community celebrated the spirit of camaraderie and pupil voice, marking a new chapter in Scoil na mBuachaillí’s history.
