Oceans of Discovery Workshop – Green Schools Marine Programme

24th Feb 2026

As part of our ongoing Green Schools Marine Programme, we were delighted to host the fantastic Oceans of Discovery Workshop in our school on February 24th and 25th.

We hosted these workshops over two full days, ensuring that every class in the school had the opportunity to take part in this exciting and engaging experience.

The workshop provided hands-on ocean learning, creating an immersive and interactive environment for our pupils as they explored the wonders of Ireland’s marine life.

During the sessions, students had the opportunity to learn about ocean biodiversity, discover fascinating marine species, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting our seas.

Each session had a strong focus on conservation, sustainability, and the positive actions young people can take to protect our oceans. The workshops perfectly complemented our Green Schools Marine work and helped to inspire our pupils to become informed and responsible ocean stewards.

Sincere thanks to our Green Schools Coordinator, Ms Niamh MacAuley, and her Green Schools Committee for organising this wonderful visit. We would also like to acknowledge Ms MacAuley and three of our 6th Class boys, Luca, Michael and Harry, who came into school at 8am on the morning of February 24th to help Dave with the set-up — your support was greatly appreciated.

We are very grateful to Dave for delivering such an informative and inspiring programme.
