6th Class Ride the Waves at Inchydoney!
Our 6th Class pupils are having an unforgettable school tour experience this year as they take to the waves with Inchydoney Surf School. This week marked Day 3 of 4 surfing sessions, and the children have been thoroughly enjoying every minute of the adventure.
Over the course of the sessions, pupils have developed their surfing skills, built confidence in the water, and, most importantly, had tremendous fun. Under the expert guidance of the instructors, they have learned about beach safety, paddling techniques, wave awareness, and how to stand up and ride the waves.
It has been wonderful to see their determination, resilience, and enthusiasm grow with each session. The smiles on their faces as they catch a wave say it all!
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a fantastic facility right on our doorstep. Inchydoney Beach is one of West Cork's greatest treasures, and having the opportunity for our pupils to learn a lifelong skill in such a beautiful setting is something we truly value.
The surfing programme has provided plenty of excitement while also encouraging teamwork, perseverance, confidence, and an appreciation of the natural environment. Many pupils have discovered a new passion and have created memories that will last a lifetime.
The excitement isn't over yet — our 6th Class pupils will return for their final surfing session on their very last day in SNB, making it a fitting and memorable way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey.
A huge thank you to Inchydoney Surf School for providing such a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for our pupils.
