Our 3rd Class pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic school tour to Spike Island, one of Cork Harbour's most historic landmarks.
The children travelled by ferry to the island, where they explored its fascinating history through guided tours and interactive exhibits. They learned about the island's past as a monastery, fortress, prison and military barracks, gaining a real insight into life on Spike Island throughout the centuries.
The tour provided a wonderful opportunity to bring history to life outside the classroom, and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed discovering the stories and secrets of this unique island.
A great day was had by all, filled with learning, exploration and fun! 🚢🏝️😊
