The Playground Pals Programme is a school initiative that encourages friendship, inclusion, and positive play between older and younger pupils. Senior classes are paired with junior classes, giving older students the opportunity to act as mentors and role models during playtime.
Each Friday, our Sixth Class pupils accompany the Junior Infants to the O’Rahilly Street yard, where they play together, help organise games, and ensure everyone feels included. The programme helps to build confidence, kindness and leadership skills among our senior pupils while fostering a sense of safety and belonging for our youngest children.
It’s a wonderful example of our school’s commitment to caring, cooperation and community spirit.
