Chess Success for Scoil na mBuachaillí & Invitation to Comórtas Fichille

We are extremely proud of our pupils following their fantastic success at the recent Féile Fichille. Our teams performed exceptionally well, showing great skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

  • 1st Place – SNB Dogs (Bud’s Section)
  • 1st Place – SNB Ants (Masters Section)
  • Joint 2nd Place – SNB Bats (Masters Section)
  • Joint 2nd Place – SNB Cats (Masters Section)

This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and team spirit of all our players.

♟️ Comórtas Fichille Invitation

As a result of their excellent performances, we are delighted to have three teams invited to the upcoming Comórtas Fichille:

🏅 About the Comórtas Fichille

The Comórtas Fichille is similar in format to the Féile Fichille and is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to come together and enjoy a day of chess.

Teams will take part in six rounds of games in a friendly but competitive format, with a focus on participation, teamwork and shared learning. Medals are presented to the top three teams on the day, adding to the sense of occasion and celebration.

While pupils play as part of a team, the emphasis is on supporting one another, showing respect and representing their school with pride.

We would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to our After School Chess Club team – Niamh Mac Auley, Laura Connolly and Ciarán Crowley – for their time, dedication and enthusiasm. Their commitment each week has been instrumental in developing the pupils’ skills and fostering such a positive and supportive chess culture in our school.

A special mention to our pupils who took part in the final after school session today, where they enjoyed an Easter Team Chess Competition – congratulations to all our winners! 🐣♟️

We look forward to the next competition coming up just after Easter.
