Afterschool Chess Club at Scoil na mBuachaillí

Our school is delighted to offer a vibrant Afterschool Chess Club that fosters strategic thinking, patience, and a lifelong love for the game.

🗓 Tuesdays – 4th Class
🗓 Wednesdays – 5th & 6th Class

Chess is a fantastic way for children to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and concentration, all in a fun, competitive, and inclusive environment.

We are very proud of Scoil na mBuachaillí’s strong tradition of chess, with many of our players achieving great success at both local and regional competitions over the years.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Niamh MacAuley for organising the club and teaching our learners every Tuesday. Thanks also to Mr Ciarán Crowley and Ms Laura Connolly, who teach and guide our senior players on Wednesdays. Their dedication and encouragement are key to the continued success and enjoyment of chess in our school.
