A Celebration of School Life at SNB Open Day
Scoil na mBuachaillí, Clonakilty recently hosted a highly successful Open Day, welcoming prospective families to experience first-hand the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere of the school.
Although no video can fully capture the warmth and excitement of the occasion, the day offered visitors a wonderful insight into the breadth of learning and extracurricular opportunities available to pupils at SNB.
Throughout the school, pupils proudly showcased their work and talents. Junior Infants displayed beautiful clay Valentine art projects, while Senior Infants demonstrated Literacy Lift Off in action. First Class highlighted their iPad-based learning, and Second Class delighted visitors with song performances.
In Third Class, pupils performed action verse poetry in preparation for Feis Maitiu, while Fourth Class presented impressive History and Geography projects.
Members of Fifth and Sixth Class played a key role in representing the wide range of yard and outdoor activities available in SNB. Visitors enjoyed seeing demonstrations and displays of basketball, chess, archery, construction play, running, soccer in the yard, and activities on the school’s astro yard and astro track.
Visitors also had the opportunity to learn about the school’s many initiatives and programmes, including the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP), science projects, Green Schools and Active Schools initiatives, the Student Council and School Wardens, cookery lessons, the school gardening team, and the popular Sherpa initiative.
The Open Day reflected the strong sense of community, pupil engagement and academic excellence that characterise Scoil na mBuachaillí. Staff and pupils alike contributed to a welcoming and informative event that left a lasting impression on visiting families.
The school looks forward to welcoming its new pupils in September and continuing to build on the strong traditions and values of the SNB community.
