🌱♻️ Composting & Sustainability in Our School We are delighted to be successfully taking part in the Cork County Council Composting & Recycling for Schools Programme. As part of this fully funded initiative, delivered by Composting Ireland, Donal from Waste Down visited our school on Friday, December 12th to install our new wormery and leaf mould composter. While we are fully immersed in preparing for our Christmas performances, we will always make time for our sustainability projects, which remain a vital part of daily life and learning in our school. We are so lucky to have the facilities in our school to support these additions. Our wormery is perfectly located beside our school garden, greenhouse, and outdoor sink, while our leaf mould composter is located near our popular Green-Schools bike shed, wild green area, and chicken coop. These locations allow pupils to engage in hands-on, outdoor learning every day. This programme helps pupils learn about composting, recycling, biodiversity, and caring for our environment in a practical and meaningful way. A huge thank you to Ms Regina Fitzmaurice, Ms Niamh Mac Auley, and Ms Marie Forristal for their fantastic engagement and commitment to this programme, and to Donal, Composting Ireland, and Cork County Council for their continued support. 🌍💚
🎺 🎺 A Fantastic Musical Experience at Our School 🎶 We are so lucky to have Ger Condon teaching brass instruments in our school every Monday. Today was extra special as Ger Condon and his brass band visited the school and treated pupils and staff to a wonderful live music demonstration. We are also very fortunate to have such amazing facilities in our school, allowing us to host events like this and provide memorable experiences for our pupils. A huge thank you to Ger and his band for a fantastic morning of music! 🎶🎺
🎄 A Magical Morning with Rang 7! ✨ Rang 7 delighted everyone today with a fantastic Christmas performance, bringing the much-loved tale ’Twas the Night Before Christmas to life for their families and friends. With expressive storytelling, confident voices and wonderful stage presence, the children filled the hall with festive joy and truly impressed their audience. 🌟 A huge well done to all our Rang 7 pupils for their hard work and enthusiasm! A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff who made it all possible — Class teacher Rebecca Hourihane, support teacher Kathryn O'Shea, Paul Carmody and SNAs Eilish McSweeney, Claire Kavanagh, Marguerite O'Sullivan and Samantha Aerts — for the script, music, costumes, face painting, props and for pulling everything together so beautifully. ❤️✨ Thanks also to the boys from 2nd & 4th class and the SNB Sound & Lighting Crew who supported their classmates. Thank you also to the families and friends who joined us and helped make the morning even more special. #ChristmasAtSNB #Rang7 #TeamWork #ProudSchoolMoment
🎄✨ Seasonal Update from SNB ✨🎄 It appears that even the Principal has been spotted wearing a Christmas jumper around the school… so the festive season has truly arrived! 🎅 In the spirit of the season, pupils are now welcome to wear Christmas jumpers, hats and festive accessories alongside their regular school uniform for the remainder of the season. We’re looking forward to seeing SNB brighten up even more with a cheerful touch of Christmas colour! 🎁🌟🎄

✨ First Class Christmas Performance ✨ Our wonderful First Class pupils delighted their families and friends with a heart-warming Christmas performance that truly captured the magic, joy and excitement of the festive season. Their beautifully decorated classroom—complete with twinkling lights, colourful artwork, and handmade Christmas crafts—was transformed into the perfect festive stage for this special celebration. The children sang a lovely selection of Christmas songs, performing each one with enthusiasm, confidence, and smiles that lit up the entire room. Their cheerful voices and lively actions showed just how much preparation and hard work they had put in. Adding to the festive fun, the pupils also shared some of their favourite Christmas jokes, filling the room with laughter. Their brilliant timing and playful humour kept everyone entertained from start to finish! We are incredibly proud of First Class for their creativity, confidence and fantastic teamwork. Their Christmas performance was a joyful way to celebrate the season and brought smiles to everyone who attended. 🌟🎅 A huge thank you to their teacher Ms. Therése Crowley and Mrs. Josie Files for all their hard work, support, and preparation. ❤️
