Today, Rang 7 set off on an exciting adventure to Little Rebels Soft Play in Ballincollig — and what a fantastic day it was! From climbing, sliding, and laughing our way through the play zones to sharing lunch in McDonalds, it was a trip full of fun, friendship and happy memories. 🍟😄 A very special thank you goes to Garda Liam Ryan, who kindly facilitated our journey on the Community Bus. We’re so grateful for his time and support in making this outing possible. 👮‍♂️ Well done, Rang 7, for representing our school so wonderfully — and thank you to Ms Rebecca Hourihane, Claire Kavanagh & Eilish McSweeney who helped make this day such a success! 🌟
🌟 Science Week 2025: Then. Today. Tomorrow. 🌟 This year marks 30 years of Science Week Ireland — a nationwide celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in science! 🔬✨ Here at SNB, we’re excited to join in the fun: 🍂 On Monday, our Gardening Team made the most of the dry weather to gather more leaves for our leaf composter — turning fallen leaves into nutrient-rich leaf mould to improve soil, support plant growth, and help the environment. A small step, but a big lesson in sustainability! 📦 Our STEM Committee delivered science boxes to every classroom for a week full of experiments and hands-on activities. 🌳 3rd Class is continuing their GLOBE Ireland “Climate Resilience – Temperatures and Trees Project”, measuring temperatures and observing trees to learn about climate resilience — a real citizen-science experience! 🕵️‍♂️ 5th Class will visit Clonakilty Library on Wednesday for a CSI Workshop, learning forensic science techniques to solve an imaginary crime. 💡 All classes at SNB will be engaging in STEM activities this week — be sure to check out our website at the end of the week for a full round-up of all the exciting science happening in school! Science isn’t just something we read about — it’s something we explore, create, and discover every day. Let’s celebrate Then. Today. Tomorrow. together! 🌍 Research Ireland Curious Minds Green-Schools GLOBE Ireland #ScienceWeek2025 #ThenTodayTomorrow #STEM #Sustainability #CitizenScience #SNB #ScienceWeekIreland

🌟 Playground Pals Programme 🌟 Every Friday, our 6th class pupils join the Junior Infants for some fun in the yard! 🎈 As part of our Playground Pals Programme, the older students act as buddies and role models — helping to organise games, encourage teamwork and make sure everyone feels included. 💛 It’s a wonderful way to build friendships, confidence, and community spirit across the classes. Well done to all our Playground Pals for spreading kindness and fun each week! 👏✨
🎼Continuing a valued tradition, students represented the school at the First Friday Mass in Clonakilty Parish Church today, enhancing the celebration with their music and singing in support of the parish. 🙏We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Elaine Connolly and Mr. Sean Daly for organising the music, and to the class teachers Ms. Carol Ann O'Donovan, Mr. Sean Daly, and Ms. Niamh MacAuley for preparing the children so well. A special thank you also to Ms. Orla O’Keeffe for supporting the sound crew on the day. 🎤These boys played beautifully at the offertory & you can catch up on the rest of the music & mass at the following link - https://www.clonakiltyparish.ie/live/
🎤 Concern Primary Debates 2025 🎤 The Concern Primary Debates, organised in conjunction with Education Support Centres across Ireland, give pupils a fantastic opportunity to: ✅ Speak confidently in public and in front of their peers ✅ Develop research, language, and debating skills ✅ Explore global issues that affect millions of people 👏 Our 6th Class pupils took part in Round 1 of the debates on Thursday, November 6th, proposing the motion: “Social Media should be banned for under 16s.” Both teams performed brilliantly, showing excellent preparation, teamwork and confidence! We send our best wishes to Scoil Eoin as they progress to Round 2, and a huge congratulations to our 6th Class students and their teachers, Ms. Niamh MacAuley and Mr. Seán Daly, for guiding and preparing the teams so well. 👏 A big well done also to all classmates who supported behind the scenes with research, timekeeping and encouragement — true teamwork in action! 💬 Debating is alive and thriving at Scoil na mBuachaillí! 💙 Thanks to West Cork Education Centre for organising this excellent initiative.
🎨🎨Such talent in West Cork! 🎨🎨 🥳Congratulations again to Liam in 4th class flying the flag for SNB
