Today, our 2nd Class pupils enjoyed a lovely visit to Clonakilty Library to launch their participation in the Cork County Council Library & Arts Service Summer Stars Reading Programme 2026. 📖☀️ The boys learned all about this fantastic national reading initiative, which encourages children to keep reading and enjoying books throughout the summer months. 📚✨ 📚 During the visit, boys who already had library cards were able to sign up for the Summer Stars Reading Programme, while those who didn't have a card were helped to register and join the library. It was wonderful to see so many boys eager to get involved and ready to enjoy a summer full of reading, discovery and adventure through books. 🌟📖☀️ A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Clonakilty Library for welcoming us and for promoting a lifelong love of reading among our pupils. ❤️📚 We would encourage all of our pupils to take part in the Summer Stars programme over the holidays. Reading for pleasure is one of the best ways to keep young minds active, build vocabulary and spark imagination. 🚀📖✨ Happy reading, boys, and best of luck collecting your Summer Stars throughout the summer! 🌟📚☀️t
🎸🎤🌟 SCOILAVISION 2026 – WHAT A NIGHT! 🌟🎤🎸 🎶 On June 10th, our school hall once again came alive for one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the Scoil na mBuachaillí calendar – Scoilavision 2026! 🎶 After months of rehearsals, preparation and hard work, our boys took to the stage and delivered an unforgettable evening of music, creativity, confidence and entertainment. 🤩🎸🥁🎹🎤 The standard was exceptional, the atmosphere electric ⚡ and the support from families and friends was incredible. 👏👏👏 🎭🎚️🔊 Scoilavision is about much more than the performers on stage. Behind the scenes, dedicated teams of pupils worked as producers, sound engineers, lighting technicians, front-of-house staff and backstage crew. Their hard work, creativity and teamwork ensured the show ran seamlessly and helped make the night such a memorable success. 👏🌟 💐 A heartfelt thank you must go to Ms Regina Fitzmaurice, whose vision, dedication and tireless commitment make Scoilavision possible. From organising rehearsals and supporting performers to coordinating every detail behind the scenes, her work ensures that every boy gets the opportunity to shine. 🌟✨ 🙌 We are also deeply grateful to our wonderful staff who worked so hard backstage, in the green room, costume & set design, at the door, on sound and lighting, and in countless other roles throughout the evening. 🎭🎟️🎚️🔊 Their teamwork, enthusiasm and generosity helped make Scoilavision the special occasion it has become. 🎟️🎙️ Special thanks to Noreen Minihan, whose loyalty to Scoil na mBuachaillí is second to none. Noreen once again brought warmth and energy to the evening as MC for our raffle. 🌟 A very special mention must also go to Noreen Collins, whose incredible effort, dedication and hard work were instrumental in ensuring the success of Scoilavision 2026. From planning and preparation to making sure everything ran seamlessly on the night, Noreen's commitment goes above and beyond. 👏👏👏 🎸🎶 We were thrilled to welcome our fantastic Parent Band, organised by Niall Moynihan and also featuring Jennifer Fitzgerald, Faelan Herriott, Paul Eloff, Sebastien Revon, Marie Hayes, Ray Blackwell and Colm Carroll. Their performance was a real highlight of the evening and a wonderful example of the strong partnership between home and school. 🏫❤️🎵 🚑❤️ The event also highlighted the strong sense of community that exists within Scoil na mBuachaillí. Our raffle in aid of Clonakilty Area Community First Responders Group was a tremendous success, raising a provisional total of approximately €1,500! 🎉🎉🎉 This was only possible because of the incredible generosity of our school and local community, who donated an amazing selection of prizes and supported the fundraiser so enthusiastically. Thank you to everyone who donated, bought tickets and contributed to such a worthy cause. 🙏🎁🎟️ 👏🌟 Most importantly, congratulations to all of our performers, crew members and pupils who made the night so memorable. Scoilavision continues to be one of the proudest traditions in Scoil na mBuachaillí—a celebration of talent 🎵, confidence 💪, creativity 🎨 and community spirit ❤️Thank You to the Parents’ Association for providing the interval refreshments . 🎸🥁🎤✨ Well done to everyone involved in making Scoilavision 2026 such an outstanding success! 🤩🎶🌟 #Scoilavision2026 #SNBClonakilty #RockTheHall 🎸 #SchoolCommunity ❤️ #StudentTalent 🌟 #Clonakilty 📍 #ProudTradition 💙💛 #TeamSNB 🙌
Nature-Inspired Clay Creations 🍂 Last week, the boys went on a nature walk to collect leaves and had great fun exploring the different shapes, patterns, and textures they discovered. Using their leaves as inspiration, they pressed them into clay to create beautiful prints, carefully observing the intricate details each leaf left behind. The boys then cut around the leaf shapes to make their very own leaf-shaped bowls. On Friday, they added the finishing touches by painting their creations, bringing them to life with vibrant colours and lots of creativity. It has been wonderful to see the boys engage with nature, develop their fine motor skills, and express their artistic talents through this hands-on activity. We are so proud of their fantastic work and the beautiful bowls they created! 🍁🎨✨
Today, we attended our final First Friday Mass of the 2025/2026 school year. As always, it was wonderful to gather with the wider parish community for this monthly celebration. This month's Mass held additional significance as it was also Mrs Elaine Connolly’s final First Friday Mass as a member of the SNB Clonakilty staff team. For many years, Mrs. Connolly has been a dedicated and faithful presence at our monthly Masses, helping to nurture and strengthen this important tradition within our school. Her commitment, kindness, and quiet leadership have enriched the spiritual life of countless pupils, staff, and families over the years. Clonakilty Family of Parishes
🤸‍♂️🌟 Senior Infants Reach New Heights! 🌟🤸‍♂️ If anyone is searching for Ireland's next gymnastics team, we suggest taking a look at our Senior Infants! 🇮🇪🏅 With just one gymnastics session remaining next week, the boys have been putting all their newly acquired skills to the test. From balancing acts and partner work to impressive displays of strength, coordination and teamwork, they have certainly come a long way since their first session. The photos tell the story better than words ever could – smiles, laughter, determination and plenty of gravity-defying moments! We are not entirely sure whether we are watching gymnasts, acrobats or future circus stars! 🎪😂 What has impressed us most is the boys' willingness to trust one another, work together and encourage their classmates. Every session has been filled with positivity, confidence-building and fun. A huge thank you to our fantastic gymnastics coach for helping the boys develop their skills while making every session so enjoyable. One session left to go... and if these pictures are anything to go by, the grand finale promises to be spectacular! 👏🤸‍♂️ #SeniorInfants #GymnasticsFun #FutureOlympians #Teamwork #ActiveSchools #SNBClonakilty #LearningThroughMovement
🚢🏝️ 3rd Class Tour to Spike Island 🏝️🚢 Our 3rd Class pupils had a fantastic day on their recent school tour to Spike Island! 😊 After a ferry trip across Cork Harbour, the children explored one of Ireland's most fascinating historic sites. They learned all about the island's rich history as a monastery, fortress, military barracks and prison through engaging tours and exhibits. 📚⚓ The tour brought history to life and gave the children a wonderful opportunity to learn outside the classroom while enjoying a fun day out with their friends. 🌟 A great day was had by all, filled with learning, exploration and plenty of smiles! 😃👏 #SchoolTour #SpikeIsland #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #HistoryAlive #ThirdClass #CorkHarbour
🌊🐟 4th Class Visit the ARC Aquaculture Roadshow 🐟🌊 Today, pupils from Ms Hayes' and Ms O'Donovan's 4th Classes had a fantastic opportunity to visit the ARC (Aquaculture Remote Classroom), currently located outside the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine offices in Clonakilty. The ARC is a mobile classroom developed by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) to help children learn about Irish aquaculture and sustainable seafood production. 🦪🐠 Through interactive activities and presentations, the children explored where seafood comes from, the importance of aquaculture in Ireland, and how it supports healthy food production and environmental sustainability. 🌍💙 A big thank you to the ARC team for providing such an engaging and educational experience. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the visit and learned so much about Ireland's marine industry! 👏😊 #ARC #Aquaculture #STEMEducation #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #SustainableSeafood #Clonakilty
Unfortunately, the final didn't go our way today, but our boys did us incredibly proud. ❤️💚 Our Sciath na Scoil Football team gave everything on the field in Ahamilla, showing tremendous determination, skill, teamwork and heart throughout the game. While the result wasn't the one we had hoped for, reaching a Sciath na Scoil Final is a fantastic achievement and one that the boys should be immensely proud of. The commitment and dedication shown by our 5th and 6th Class boys throughout the campaign has been outstanding, and they represented our school with great pride and sportsmanship. A huge thank you to their coaches, Marie Forristal, Ciarán Crowley and Seán Daly, for all their hard work, encouragement and support throughout the year. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Rebecca and Rob from Emmet Hotel Clonakilty for kindly treating our panel and coaches after the game. Your generosity and support were greatly appreciated and helped make the day even more special for the boys. 👏 We are incredibly proud of every member of the panel. Heads held high, boys – you did yourselves, your families and your school proud. 🏆👏🍀
