🏫 What to Expect on Our Open Day Tour – Scoil na mBuachaillí 👋 We look forward to welcoming families to Scoil na mBuachaillí for our Open Day Tour, beginning at 1pm tomorrow Visitors will be guided through the school by our senior pupils, who will provide an insight into daily life in Scoil na mBuachaillí and share their experiences as members of our school community. During the tour, you will see the wide range of learning and opportunities available to pupils, including: 📚 Teaching and learning across all class levels 📖 A strong focus on literacy, including Literacy Lift Off, regular visits to the local library, and our new Every Child A Reader initiative 🔬 Hands-on Science learning and exploration 🌍 Geography and History projects 🇮🇪 Gaeilge and Irish culture in school life 💡 The Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) 🍳 Practical cookery classes developing essential life skills Pupils in Scoil na mBuachaillí also enjoy a wide variety of extracurricular and leadership opportunities, including our Student Council, school wardens, and activities such as: ♟️ Chess 🏀 Basketball 🎱 Pool ❓ Quiz competitions 🌱 School garden and sustainability projects 🤸 Sensory rooms and wellbeing supports 🏐 GAA and sporting activities 🐔 Our school hens and outdoor learning 🏗️ Our new extension, Áras Uí Mhúineacháin The tour will conclude in the school hall, where an exhibition will highlight the vibrant and inclusive life of our school. 🏟️ Croke Park Movement Breaks in Scoil na mBuachaillí! 🏃‍♀️⚽ All our pupils have been loving getting active as part of the Active Schools Croke Park Movement Breaks initiative 💪✨ — especially perfect for the rainy weather we’ve been having ☔🌧️ Each day, pupils enjoy a 🌍 virtual tour of a new area of Croke Park Stadium 🏟️ and take part in a fun 🤸‍♂️ movement break at that location! These daily activity breaks help to: ✅ boost fitness and energy ⚡ ✅ improve concentration and focus 📚 ✅ support physical and mental well-being 💙 ✅ bring lots of fun and excitement into the classroom 😄🎉 We are so proud to be an Active School 🏅 and to promote healthy habits for life through initiatives like this 🌟 #crokeparkmovementbreaks @active_school_flag 💙🏃‍♂️🏟️

🍳 Cooking Classes Underway in SNB! 🍰 We are delighted to share that a hands-on cookery course has begun in our school, led by Sharon Coleman, an experienced cookery instructor who delivers fun and interactive cooking sessions for all ages. The classes kicked off today with Junior Infants, 1st Class and 2nd Class, and the children had a fantastic time getting stuck in! These sessions are fully practical and designed to build children’s confidence and enjoyment in the kitchen. All ingredients, utensils, equipment and recipes are provided. Cooking is such an important life skill, and through these sessions pupils will learn how to: 🥄 follow a recipe ⚖️ weigh and measure ingredients 🍽️ prepare meals 🔥 use a range of cooking methods Each session includes the preparation of a healthy savoury dish as well as baking, giving pupils hands-on experience with a variety of techniques. 👩‍🍳 Every class in the school will receive at least two cooking sessions this term, and we are delighted to announce that this programme will become a regular feature in SNB, helping our pupils develop essential life skills in a fun and practical way.
