🌟 Yesterday, 3rd Class enjoyed a lovely walk around Clonakilty as they explored their local area and got to know their town a little better 🏘️ Along the way, they discovered different street names, spotted interesting local statues, and learned more about the history and features of their community. They also kept an eye out for their amazing summer visitors — the swifts 🐦✨ — and were delighted to see them flying overhead. A fantastic day of learning, exploring, and enjoying the sunshine ☀️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
🏄‍♂️🌊 Scoil na mBuachaillí has a proud tradition of providing exciting outdoor learning opportunities for our pupils, and over the coming weeks our 6th Class boys will take part in a fantastic four-day surfing programme with Inchydoney Surf School Throughout the programme, the boys will develop their surfing skills, build confidence in the water, and experience the beauty of the West Cork coastline. Each session will encourage teamwork, resilience, and a willingness to challenge themselves — all while having great fun along the way! We are looking forward to seeing the boys grow in confidence and enjoy this wonderful experience over the coming weeks. A huge thank you to the team at Inchydoney Surf School for providing this exciting opportunity for our pupils.

Hard to believe it has already been a full year since Gloria, Rita and Betty joined Scoil na mBuachaillí! 🐔🎉 Over the past year, our hens have become a much-loved part of school life, bringing so much joy, excitement and learning opportunities to our pupils every day. From collecting eggs and caring for the hens to baking, biodiversity projects and even our Young Scientist research, the project has created wonderful hands-on experiences for the boys. 🥚🌱💚 The hens have helped teach responsibility, teamwork, sustainability and wellbeing, while becoming very special members of our school family along the way. A huge thank you to Ms O’Shea, Finbarr and Noreen for all their care and dedication to the project throughout the year. Thank you also to our pupils, staff, families and wider community for their continued support — especially Grandad David, who kindly minds the hens during the Easter and summer holidays! Here’s to another fantastic year because life really is better with chickens! 🐓
